As I was reading an article this morning over coffee, I was enlightened with the idea that my focuses as both an accountant and a techie are invaluable to all aspects of my business. While that is a great feeling, it is also a concern as to how do I help my clients make best use of my abilities to help their companies grow and prosper. After all, my success is a direct reflection of my client’s success.
I’ve come to a list of steps that will help evaluate our current position and at the same time help decide the future goals making a clear path to progress.
What is the current technology atmosphere? What systems do you have; programs do you use?
How are you currently making use of these assets?
What do you want you technology to do for you?
Who can access data?
How can they access data?
Intuitive approaches to marketing?
How can this be done?
Is all of this secure?
To both be realistic in your analysis, I suggest having either myself or someone outside of the firm do an analysis of your current technology platforms. This will also usually lead to getting advice on how to build and better serve your needs with technology in your specific situation.
